What is Vaser Liposuction?
Vaser liposuction is a minimally-invasive body contouring liposuction procedure that uses sound energy. This alternative to traditional liposuction makes it easier for surgeons to sculpt and contour the body, and is able to target trouble areas such as back rolls, the waistline, and the abdomen.
Who is a Candidate for Vaser Liposuction?
Healthy individuals who are seeking a fast and minimally-invasive treatment solution to their stubborn fat are often good candidates. Patients should be looking to improve the definition of their muscles and contouring of their body for a more sculpted look. A consultation with one of our Vaser experts is needed to determine if this treatment option is right for you.
The Vaser Liposuction Procedure
During the Vaser liposuction procedure, the treatment area is filled with a tumescent saline solution that works by swelling the tissue, allowing the ultrasound energy to separate fat cells using a very small instrument. These loosened fat cells can now be gently removed using a traditional suction cannula. The procedure can take between 1-3 hours, depending on the number of areas being treated and the patient’s specific aesthetic goals.
Recovery from Vaser Liposuction
Following Vaser liposuction, there is a brief period of rest needed, usually 12-24 hours immediately after the procedure. The amount of activity a patient can do after surgery is dependant on how they feel, though extreme physical activity should be avoided during recovery. Because Vaser liposuction creates less injury than traditional liposuction, there is less pain, swelling, and bruising involved, as well as a shorter recovery period. Final results are seen as swelling subsides, usually 2-4 months after surgery. Compression garments will need to be worn during recovery to reduce swelling and support the new body contours.
How Much does Vaser Liposuction Cost?
The cost of liposuction will vary depending on the geographic locations, number of treatment areas, and amount of body sculpting needed. However, Vaser liposuction is often most costly than traditional liposuction since it is a more advanced technique that involves specialized equipment and experienced surgeons. Pricing can be discussed during your consultation.
