The iGrow® hair growth system is FDA cleared for men and women with hair loss. At the BioSpa® Newport Beach we recommend iGrow as part of our hair restoration protocol.
The Basics
Why Patients Choose iGrow LED Therapy
While other hair restoration treatments require painful incisions or hair extraction and replacement, the iGrow system is completely non-surgical and noninvasive. Patients who are not good candidates for invasive hair restoration options, or who simply do not wish to undergo them may be great candidates for the iGrow LED therapy system.
How it Works
iGrow is a hands-free helmet which uses low-level light therapy (LLLT) to treat thinning hair or balding in both men and women. It is clinically proven and is safe to use in the privacy of your own home. It even comes with headphone, so you can listen to music while you use the helmet.
The LLLT stimulates cellular activity within the hair follicle to promote the growth of thick, full, healthy-looking hair. The device produces no heat, so you don’t have to worry about burning or injuring the skin. There have been medical studies performed which support the use of LLLT for hair growth. The initial recommended treatment time is 4 to 6 months. After that, continue sessions once or twice per week to maintain your hair quality.
Your Customized iGrow LED Therapy Treatment
At BioSpa® we aim to provide you with a personalized treatment plan to help meet your individual aesthetic goals. While most individuals are good candidates for the iGrow system, we will examine your hair and scalp to make sure this is the right treatment for you.
However, iGrow needs to detect a viable hair follicle to see results, so individuals with extremely light hair colors or those who are bald with hair follicles that are damaged or have scarred over may not be good candidates.
Post-Treatment Tips
- There is no downtime required, so patients can return to their normal activities immediately.
- Patients can feel free to wash and style their hair as normal.
Your iGrow LED Therapy Results
Patients can often see visible results after about six months. After you see optimal results, it is recommended that you use iGrow once or twice a week for maintenance. Most patients report a thicker, fuller head of hair after about six months of using iGrow, and a boost in confidence as well!
