Xeomin® is made from purified Botulinum toxin A.
Xeomin® treats wrinkles caused by facial expressions.
No downtime or recovery is required after treatment with Xeomin®.
The results of Xeomin® are temporary but can last several months.
Why Patients Choose Xeomin®
Patients choose Xeomin® when they begin to develop moderate to severe lines and wrinkles between the eyebrows, also known as frown lines, or other dynamic wrinkles in the upper face. Those with wrinkles that are present even when the face is relaxed might benefit more from a different injectable like dermal fillers. Patients who are allergic to botulinum toxin are not candidates for treatment and any skin allergies or medical conditions should be discussed prior to treatment.
How it Works
As we age, the body begins to produce less and less collagen, the key to strong, youthful-looking skin. This loss of collagen combined with years of facial expressions like smiling and frowning can lead to weakened skin with fine lines and wrinkles. Xeomin® uses botulinum toxin A formula to target the muscles in the upper face. by blocking the signal that tells the muscles to contract, patients can express themselves with reduced appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Your Customized Xeomin® Treatment
The exact placement of Xeomin® and the amount needed will vary depending on the patient’s concerns and their severity. Prior to treatment, the skin will be cleansed and prepared for the injection process. Patients typically report feeling a pinching sensation with each injection, however, for patients who are nervous about the discomfort, ice or numbing cream can also be applied prior to treatment. The placement points will then be expertly mapped out, ensuring that only the wrinkle-causing muscles are targeted and the natural facial expressions are preserved. This process can take about 10-20 minutes to complete.
There is no required downtime or recovery after treatment with Xoemin, however, patients can follow these tips to maximize their comfort and ensure successful results:
- Avoid exercise for the rest of the day following treatment.
- Avoid heat from a hot bath or direct sunlight.
- Use an ice pack to control swelling or redness.
- Keep the head elevated for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid rubbing the injection sites.
Your Xeomin® Results
The results of treatment with Xeomin® can become noticeable in just 3-4 days, with maximum results after 30 days. Patients can expect to see results after just one treatment, however, some patients might require 2-3 treatment sessions to smooth their wrinkles. After optimal sessions, patients can expect a younger appearance with no scarring. The results of Xeomin® typically last about three months before a touch-up session is required.
Further Treatment Options
There are many types of injectable treatments on the market offering facial rejuvenation. If static wrinkles, or wrinkles that are present even when the face is relaxed, are present along with lines between the brows, patients might consider combining facial fillers to their treatment. Fillers come in different formulas to treat specific signs of aging, and some can be added to the cheeks or lips for a subtle enhancement.
Xeomin® can effectively improve the first signs of aging, but cannot prevent future aging from occurring. Those who begin to develop more severe signs of aging in the face might consider a surgical procedure like the facelift, brow lift, or eyelid rejuvenation.
