Rejuvapen® is a micro-needling treatment used to treat men with acne, scarring, stretch marks, and other skin issues. It can also be used to tighten, lift and improve skin quality.

Micro-needling has been performed in Europe for decades and is now available here in the United States. Rejuvapen® can be used on all skin colors and types. It is a good alternative to laser, because there is no risk of burning or discoloration. The treatment requires no downtime.

How Does Réjuvapen® Mico-needling Treatment Work?

Micro-needling, also referred to as skin-needling or collagen induction therapy (CIT), uses a small hand-held device containing fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture triggers the body to fill these tiny wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through this process there is improvement in the appearance of acne, scarring, stretch marks, skin texture and firmness.

Various levels of penetration are available ranging from superficial to the dermis. The depth is determined by the type of skin issue and severity.

Mid-level penetration is used to treat mild scarring, sun damage & pigmentation, minimize pore size, and textural issues will typically require mid-level penetration. While severe scarring, acne, stretch marks, and skin tightening require deep level penetration.

Who is a Candidate for Réjuvapen®?

The Rejuvapen® micro-needling treatment is a good option for men who don’t want to invest the cost or downtime needed with more intensive laser treatments. It is also a good option for men who are not a candidate for laser due to their skin type.

  • Acne & Acne Scarring
  • Scarring from injury or surgery
  • Stretch marks

What Areas Can be Treated With Réjuvapen?

Micro-needling can treat issues on the face, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.

How Many Micro-needling Treatments are Needed?

In most cases multiple treatments are necessary to obtain the best result. The number of sessions depends on the skin issue being treated.

Mild to moderate acne scarring: 3 – 4 treatments

Deeper scars, stretch marks, and skin tightening: 6 – 8 treatments

Men tend to have thicker skin than women, so additional treatments may be necessary depending on the issue and severity. We recommend scheduling sessions 10 -14 days apart. Maintenance treatments are encouraged 6 to 12 months following completion of a full series.

What to Expect During Your Réjuvapen® Micro-needling Treatment at the BioSpa

A topical anesthetic cream is applied to the area being treated to reduce discomfort. Once the area is numb, the Réjuvapen® will be passed across the skin creating little punctures. Most appointments last about one hour.

What to Expect After Your Réjuvapen® Treatment

It is normal to experience redness and swelling following a micro-needling treatment. On day two, skin may look sunburned. Severity of the symptoms depend on the depth of penetration. Symptoms typically resolve within three to five days. Results will continue to improve over time as new collagen is produced. It can take up to 6 months for the final result to be visible.
