We have expanded the BioSpa, our Medical Spa, into its own dedicated space offering you the best in nonsurgical options as well. The most advanced techniques are offered at our center to give you safe, effective, and natural results from the most suitable nonsurgical treatments.
Patients who are seeking nonsurgical treatments for rejuvenating their facial skin can choose the effective microneedling procedure. If you are suffering from skin issues like acne, scars, and sagging of the skin, microneedling can help you achieve stunning natural results. Since it promotes the natural production of collagen within your skin, it enhances skin tightening as well.
The procedure can be used on all skin types and colors, and because there is no risk of discoloration or burning that is common with lasers, it makes for a great alternative to laser treatments.
If you do not wish to invest any downtime that is required with other intensive treatments, you are a good candidate for the microneedling treatment at the BioSpa. It helps with problems like acne, scars, stretch marks, large pores, uneven tone and texture, upper lip lines and pigmentation and melasma. Microneedling is not only meant for the face and can also be used on your chest and neck to correct skin tone and texture. However, you may require a few treatment sessions to reach optimal results.
Once we evaluate the severity of your skin issues, we will explain the number of treatment sessions required. When you suffer from mild to moderate acne scarring, you may require 3 to 4 sessions. However, if you have stretch marks, deeper scars and skin sagging, you may require 6 to 8 treatment sessions for correction. Your treatments must be scheduled 10 to 14 days apart and you can get maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months.
Even though most patients do not feel any pain during the microneedling procedure, a topical anesthetic is applied 15 minutes before your procedure to deal with any possible discomfort. Your appointment will usually last for about an hour and the severity of your procedure depends on the depth of penetration. This is decided depending on your requirements and cosmetic goals. We may choose superficial treatment (just below the surface of your skin) in case you require minimizing of pore size and skin rejuvenation; the mid-level penetration is used in case of mild scars, sun damage, pigmentation and improvement in skin texture; and deepest penetration is used when you have moderate to severe acne, scars, stretch marks and require skin tightening.
A small device with fine needles is used to puncture your skin and it triggers your body to heal these micro wounds. This, in turn, leads to the production of elastin and collagen. You may experience some swelling and redness from the procedure and the appearance is that of a sunburn the next day.
You can also benefit from combining either PRP or radiofrequency to your microneedling treatment in order to optimize your results. PRP is Platelet Rich Plasma that uses your own blood plasma in order to stimulate collagen production and tissue regeneration and speed up the repair process of your skin. You can get the same benefits from the radiofrequency option that heats up the deeper layers of your skin.
Since aging does not take place overnight, the results of your procedure also take a while before you realize them completely. You will continue to see improvement in your skin over a year and with each subsequent session, you will see a natural glow and revitalization. As long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, you will retain the smooth texture and refreshed appearance of your skin.
