No More Double Chin with Kybella®
Kybella is a breakthrough non-invasive, non-surgical treatment designed to eliminate excess fat below the chin (a.k.a. submental fat).

What is Kybella®?
Kybella® (deoxycholic acid) injection is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin.” Kybella is designed to restore youthful definition to the chin without the invasiveness of traditional liposuction or plastic surgery procedures such as a neck lift.
Made from a naturally occurring substance known as deoxycholic acid, Kybella targets submental fat and breaks down fat cells before absorbing them into the body. Kybella is injected into various locations within the targeted area. Patients usually begin seeing results within a few weeks following treatment, and continued improvement is expected with additional treatments. A typical Kybella treatment cycle ranges from 2 to 6 injections, spread out over several months.
Who is a candidate for Kybella?
Any male over the age of 18 with submental fullness may be a candidate. We do ask men in Newport Beach, Orange County to come in for a complimentary Kybella consultation to determine candidacy. If there is skin laxity present in the chin or neck area, we may recommend a laser skin tightening procedure following your last Kybella treatment. In cases of a severe double chin or turkey neck, an alternative treatment plan may be recommended such as liposuction or a neck lift.
What to expect during and after your Kybella Treatment
The area being treated will be numbed using a local anesthetic injected by one of our fully trained and experienced injectors. The neck will be marked to outline where the Kybella will be placed, followed by the actual injections. After your treatment is completed, approximately 30 minutes later, you may experience temporary redness, swelling, numbness, and hardness. While rare, bruising can occur as well. Symptoms will subside over a period of days to a week or so.
