What Causes Acne & Acne Scars?
Acne is a skin condition caused by hair follicles that become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. It often causes blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, or cystic acne, which can affect the face, forehead, chest, upper back, and shoulders. Acne is very common among teenagers, though it can affect people of all ages.
In some cases, acne can cause acne scarring. They are formed with the breakout penetrates the skin deeply and damages the tissues beneath it. There are three main types of acne scars:
Wide scars that are U-shaped with sharp edges. They can be shallow or deep.
Ice Pick Scars
Narrow, V-shaped scars that go deeply into the skin. They can look like small round holes, similar to a chickenpox scar.
Wide depressions that have rounded edges and a rolling appearance.
