Injectables: The Trend In Non-surgical Anti-aging Treatments

Anti-aging treatments are highly sought after by everyone from celebrities to your neighbor down the street. After all, who wouldn’t want to find the secret to looking young? Anti-aging treatments such as injectables, medical peels, and lasers have long been a mainstay in cosmetic practices, and we at BioSpa® pride ourselves on providing the largest array of anti-aging treatments on the market today.

While injectable fillers have been around for years, there are continually new advanced fillers being introduced each year. For this reason, injectables continue to rise in popularity year after year. Injectable fillers are used to sculpt the face to create a better balance with other features, restore volume loss, minimizes the appearance of lines/wrinkles, and smooth the skin—with no surgery required. There is also a new injectable called Kybella, which instead of being used as a filler, dissolves unwanted fat underneath the chin. Botox and Dypsort are also known as injectables, but they work to minimize muscle movement to improve the appearance of dynamic lines.

Common Types of Injectables

Injectables are also referred to as dermal fillers. Not all fillers are created alike. The ingredients vary from those using hyaluronic acid which is a natural ingredient found in the body to those made with synthetic materials. Fillers made with hylauronic acid can be reversed if a patient is unhappy with the result after injection. This is not the case with other injectable fillers.

Popular Injectable Fillers

Did you know your own body fat can even be used as a filler? One of the benefits to this is that the fat comes from you—fat is removed from an area of the body and repurposed into another area needing volume. One of the primary benefits is that your body does not have to become accustomed to any foreign substances. It is also longer lasting than any filler on the market today. While injectable fillers can have a little bit of downtime due to swelling and bruising, fat injections do take longer to heal from because there can be significant swelling that may take weeks to subside.

Are Injectables Right for Me?

It goes without saying that everyone’s needs will be different. What might be right for you may certainly not be right for another person. Our doctors and nurses will evaluate your needs and give their expert recommendation on which filler or combination of fillers is best suited for you. The point of an injectable procedure, after all, is to help you be the best version of yourself.
