Smoking can also cause damage and contributes to rough, aged skin. Dry skin that lacks moisture can also feel rough to the touch.

Uneven Color & Tone

An uneven skin tone, also known as hyperpigmentation, is an irregular darkening of the skin. It is caused by an overproduction of melanin, which is the pigment responsible for skin and hair color. Uneven skin tone is caused by many factors, including sun exposure and sun damage, pollution, hormones, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
